Hot Tips For Women Golfers

Thirty years ago, there were almost no women golfers; and the women golfers around didn’t compete in tournaments. But a lot has changed in thirty years. We are living in the 21st century of equal opportunity for all. Women golfers now compete in the same tournaments as men and often win.

If you are one of those women looking to compete in tournaments or even if you are just a woman looking to beat your friends, there are a number of tips and techniques that many golfers have yet to master. Some are common sense and others are tricky. But
if you apply them to your game, they will give you aclear advantage over the competition.

For instance, you should always warm up properly before a practice session or even when playing. Warming up allows for the body to loosen up; and stretching will help your muscles perform better, which will allow you to get maximum strength when hitting the golf ball from the tee or the fairway. Warming up will also make the body last longer and allow you not to tire out quickly.

A good warm up and warm down will routine before every match will allow your body to meets its maximum potential while reducing your risk of injury.

In addition to warming up, you should also consider improving your stance. If your current stance is too rigid, you should loosen it up. If it is too spread out, you should close it.

You should also try to balance your weight equally between your feet. Your goal should be to analyze your game, determine where your faults are, and then try out new tips until you successfully improve each aspect of your game.

If you follow this rule, you should always be able to keep abreast with the competition by consistently improving your game, and proving that women golfers are here to stay.

Tips to Help You Stop Hooking The Ball From The Tee

If you are having troubles hooking the ball–especially from the tee–then you should spend some time to analyze what is causing this problem. It could be the result of a number of different things.

A lot of golfers believe that the equipment could be to blame for a lack of central flight on the golf ball, allowing the ball to fly wildly onto the heavy rough or into the sand and water hazards.

But what if your equipment is fine? — What could be the problem?

When you are truly hooking the ball, it is generally caused when your swing comes too far from the inside out. This causes excessive spin or “hook” spin. However, this is becoming less common as most players now swing from the outside to the inside to affect a pull slice.

If you want to correct this problem, the first thing you should do is check your stance. Your legs should be stretched out with your chin straight. This will produce a good spine angle, which in turn will provide a good swing plane.

A player who has a very strong grip with his right forearm below their left and his stance closed will cause the club with a closed face to come too far inside. Luckily, good alignment and posture can help eliminate this problem. The main thing to remember is that if you aren’t hitting well, then your setup is more than likely the culprit.

In addition to this, you should also try to concentrate more on swinging straight down the target line. That is the best advice you can get if you are trying to avoid another wild hooking shot. Stay calm and focused, keep your shoulders straight, and keep the golf club swing nice and short with enough power to make 200 yards seem like child’s play every time you put your ball on the tee. Aim to make hooking a thing of the past.

The Importance Of A Good Stance

No two golfers are ever the same; everyone is different and that’s what makes golf what it is. Everyone has different strengths and weaknesses–styles and techniques. Some are better at putting and others have a great stance.

Although the stance is effective in the same way, some people will prefer their stance to be different from others, so they can play with more power or more control to give them a specific advantage over other golfers.

If you want to further your golfing career and improve your game, you should spend some time perfecting your stance. Not only will this maximize the efficiency of every swing you make on the course, but it will also increase your overall enjoyment of the game.

You should first get the grip you prefer and then set yourself up with a stance that feels comfortable; if you are uncomfortable, then chances are your shot is going to make you even more uncomfortable.

Many golfers will see the traditional stance as the best way to go, but feel free to make little changes to the stance if it improves your game. To try the general stance that most golfers use, you should stand tall with your heels about a shoulder’s width apart. Bend slightly from the top of your hips and keep your back straight. Let your arms hang down, but don’t let your chin tuck into your chest.

Before you swing, make sure your weight is equally-distributed between both feet; and also make sure your weight rests on the balls of your feet.

Remember that this is just the standard stance used by many successful golfers. If you play better using a different stance, then by all means keep it.

Your stance is important for every shot you take, so make sure the stance you are using now is actually the best possible stance for you; otherwise, you will add strokes to your game every single time you swing a club.

Essential Putting Tips

Putting is a very important moment on every golf hole. It signals the end of the hole and subsequently it will signal whether it was a good hole or a hole to forget.

Some people prefer a smaller green when putting , but others like the longer greens so that they can really try their luck at putting a twenty-five yard ball.

Putting balls that are between 4 and 6 feet in length are the ones that we expect to sink all the time. But even pros can miss putting those putts before, which means the average golfer shouldn’t be bothered if he misses that 5 foot putt. But of course your success rate will increase with practice–and with it, your score for each hole will shrink, making more and more competitive as you train.

It is important to practice putting; and one best ways to do this is to start small. Start with putting straight balls because they will teach you the basics of putting. For instance, you will soon learn that if you focus on the putting, it will help you get more of a feel for the putter.

Try getting about 10 golf balls lined up about four feet from the hole; and just try putting them. You will probably miss a few initially, but continue putting until you can get every golf ball in the hole every single time.

When you can do this easily, start trying longer putts.

The other benefit about learning to putt is that you will build confidence with each putt and consequently will have less fear about putting from that distance. You may even want to price putting in your own home, where you feel most comfortable. This might be a good idea if you feel you need to build confidence in your putting.

There are golfers out there who execute every movement right and have a flawless swing. But they seem to be lacking something. Usually this “little something” actually has to do with their mental game of golf, rather than physical.

First, there is the teeing up error: some golfers will not give themselves as much room as they need. If you are playing a slice, then you should tee the ball on the right side so that you can start it left without the fear of clipping branches.

Next there is the teeing problem: sometimes the teeing ground will be uneven due to erosion. Try to locate a level spot as you are approaching the tee. It can be tough to tell if the surface is even once you are standing over the ball. If you are unsure, then you
should consider re-teeing your golf ball.

Some golfers also have a problem with rushing. They don’t slow down and focus on their game; instead they keep swinging and moving. But why rush? When you are hitting fast, you will lose concentration and more than likely mess up a good shot.

Rushing through a shot does not make you a better player. Of course, you should move quickly between shots, but maintain your normal pre-shot routine and you’ll do a lot better than you would rushing through the shots. There is no connection in golf between skill and speed.

Everyone will make mistakes somewhere in their game, but if you can remove as many mistakes as possible from your mind and carry on like nothing has happend, then you will greatly improve your next shot. This is another important part of the mental game of golf – fighting that urge to give up or get frustrated. Don’t let your last shot affect your next.

In addition to this, there are a number of other mental errors you will run into in the world of golf. These are just a few of of the highlights that tend to happen more frequently. If you learn to overcome these, you will greatly improve your mental game of golf and your chances of winning.

How To Improve Your Golf Grip

Like every golfer, you probably have a very particular way in which you hold your club. And if it works well for you, you should keep it–and possibly consider how you can improve it. If, however, you are struggling with your golf grip or would like to learn how to improve it, continue reading –this guide on golf grips could greatly improve your game.

Many things can cause a slice in the world of golf. But nine times out of ten, it is caused by a poor golf grip. One way to fix this is to make sure that when you are looking down, you can see the first two knuckles of your left hand and a ‘V’ shape between your thumb and forefinger.

Many golfers have a habit of gripping the club too tightly, which often causes unnecessary tension. It can also make you hit the top of the ball. To prevent this, you should check your right side grip; and your arm and shoulder tension before each swing. You should sense some mild tension. Remember that light muscles are better than tight muscles.

One common error golfers make when putting is failing to coordinate between wrists; each wrist ends up moving in a different direction, when they should be working as a unit.

If you experience this problem, try using a cross hand grip. To get the grip right, place your left hand on the grip where the right hand would usually be; and then put the thumb on your right hand level with the top of the thumb on your left hand. This will feel odd at first, but it will force the hands to work together, which is what counts when it comes to putting.

These are just a few tips that will greatly help you improve your game by increasing your mastery over your golf grip.

Golf Warm Up Tips

Before you start a round of golf, it is important that you remember some golf warm up tips before the match. People warm up for their chosen sports all the time, as it reduces the risk of injury; golf is no different. By the time professionals step up to the first tee, they are fully prepared to give their best from the first swing onward.

To get a good round of golf in, you will need to warm up; that will mean getting to the course early. You may need to take care of things in the golf shop or anything else that you have planned, but you must not feel rushed to get all these things done just so you can get a good warm up in. Get there early and get everything done so that you can get a nice exercise session done in time. It’s essential that you prepare yourself with a good golf warm up.

Putting is a big part of golf and as such, you will need to do some warming up before you start putting. It is the slowest and smoothest of all strokes in golf, which means you will need a different golf warm up. So set some golf balls down, starting putting; and you should be ready to tackle any greens that come your way when golfing.

Stretching can improve your game radically, especially if you stretch properly. It will also help you avoid injuries, which are often the result of tense muscles.

Time your golf warm up so that you will make it to the first tee in time with everyone else. You do not want to stand there for a few minutes after you just finished warming up. If you do have a delay, stand by the side of the tee, make slow swings, and stretch so as to keep the good effect of your golf warm up – that way you can stay loose.

If you choose not to start with a golf warm up before a game, then you are starting the game with a severe handicap.

What You Should Know Before You Pay For Golf Lessons

Taking up golf can be an expensive hobby. In addition to purchasing clubs, you must also have golf lessons. This can often be the most expensive part of golfing. This is why you should take time to shop around and find a teacher who comes highly-recommended.

You should pick a reasonable a price limit for what you are willing to spend on your golf lessons. As a rule of thumb, the more expensive a golf instructor is, the more awards he has and the better he will be at teaching you; however, this is not always necessarily true.

This is why you should keep an eye out for that bargain. There are pros out there who may be just as good as the best instructor, but they are willing to give you golf lessons for a lower price.

The best way for a golf instructor to sell themselves is through past students. To find the best instructor, you should ask golfers in your local area who taught them how to golf. If a certain name keeps popping up, then you should consider contacting that person for lessons.

You can always interview the instructor before you make your decision. Remember: they need you to run a successful business and they will be more than happy to take 15 minutes to answer any questions that you may have. That will also give you time to assess their techniques and see if they can teach you what you really need to learn.

A instructor can only take you so far in your lessons; you must be willing to spend some time on the golf course when you are not taking your golf lessons. Even an extra couple of hours at the driving range could considerably hone your golfing skills.

Even if you sign up for golf lessons that are endorsed by a huge golf star, you will not turn into that person overnight. You need to practice and absorb your golf lessons.

Hitting The Golf Ball In The Sweet Spot

You should always hit a golf ball on the sweet spot. You want that golf ball to fly straight without going off course.

Here are a few tips to help you develop a powerful, straight shot.

Aim and alignment are important factors that you can control before you swing. Even though you won’t hit the sweet spot every time, you can greatly increase your chances if you improve your aim and alignment.

A good shot routine will help you to fine-tune these crucial skills by forcing you to follow a procedure.

Before you begin a pre-shot routine, you must get behind the ball. This is the only way you can clearly sight the area you want to hit.

You can now begin to approach the golf ball with confidence because you know for sure that you will hit it with perfect aim and drive it for well over 200 yards. From then on, this will be a straightforward process and you will continue to keep that positive attitude everytime you step up to the tee.

Now for the build up: place your hands on the club, keeping the clubface square. Align your body nicely, checking that your feet, thighs, hips and shoulders are all parallel.

Then, with the confidence you gained before approaching the ball, trust your own aim and alignment; and execute the perfect shot you envisioned. Even if you don’t hit it perfectly, you will more than likely send it flying close to the 300 yard mark.

These simple little confidence boosters are always great confidence booster for golfers; and can greatly improve your game if used in conjunction with different techniques.

Synthesizing your mental golf game and your physical golf game will improve your overall game much better than either could do alone. So remember that golf ball sweet spot!
