Hot Tips For Women Golfers

Thirty years ago, there were almost no women golfers; and the women golfers around didn’t compete in tournaments. But a lot has changed in thirty years. We are living in the 21st century of equal opportunity for all. Women golfers now compete in the same tournaments as men and often win.

If you are one of those women looking to compete in tournaments or even if you are just a woman looking to beat your friends, there are a number of tips and techniques that many golfers have yet to master. Some are common sense and others are tricky. But
if you apply them to your game, they will give you aclear advantage over the competition.

For instance, you should always warm up properly before a practice session or even when playing. Warming up allows for the body to loosen up; and stretching will help your muscles perform better, which will allow you to get maximum strength when hitting the golf ball from the tee or the fairway. Warming up will also make the body last longer and allow you not to tire out quickly.

A good warm up and warm down will routine before every match will allow your body to meets its maximum potential while reducing your risk of injury.

In addition to warming up, you should also consider improving your stance. If your current stance is too rigid, you should loosen it up. If it is too spread out, you should close it.

You should also try to balance your weight equally between your feet. Your goal should be to analyze your game, determine where your faults are, and then try out new tips until you successfully improve each aspect of your game.

If you follow this rule, you should always be able to keep abreast with the competition by consistently improving your game, and proving that women golfers are here to stay.

Finding That Perfect Golf Swing

So you’re having trouble getting that golf swing into action and you don’t want to spend a fortune on a instructor who will teach you what you already know. Keep reading and we’ll see if this guide can help you learn how to improve your golf swing.

First of all, to get any good golf swing in motion, you will need to relax. You may already have the best motion, but you still need to brush it up slightly and be more relaxed. Just pretend no one else is there. Only you are there and no one is judging your game.

Or maybe your golf grip is giving you some trouble. There are different variations of golfing grips and you should choose one that feels right for you and stick with it. Finding grips can be a simple case of trial and error, but you will find the ones that best complement your golf swing. It may take longer, but it will be worth it in the long run.

If you don’t have a good stance, then you will more than likely end up with a bad golf swing and a bad follow-through. But don’t worry: it’s not difficult to get that good stance. It may just take time to get the motion right, especially if you have been using that bad stance for a while. It may be difficult to break out of it and move into a good golf swing motion.

Obviously, once you have found that perfect golf swing, stick with it and work with it; there is always room for improvement. You may not be the best golfer on the planet, but if your swing works well for you and starts to bring down your scores, then will you really care about being the best in the world? Improving your golf swing is a good start towards beating your friends.

How To Use The Downswing

The downswing in golf is undoubtedly one of the most critical parts of your game.

The downswing has been the subject of a lot of misleading advice, leaving a golfers worried about their backswing and always trying to improve the backswing, even when it is the single best part of their game.

Most golfers start their downswing by turning their shoulders, which often causes them to end up swinging their clubs across the intended line of flight from out-to-in– with their shoulders open on impact.

You must follow a straight line when making the impact with the ball and then follow through without deviating; if your club curves off, so will the golf ball–and it will more than likely end up in the woods, rather than on the rough.

When performing the downswing, you must also keep it powerful to get the furthest distance possible and maximize flight time. To achieve this, your shoulders must be square at the moment of impact – and you must follow through with your swing to ensure the ball is forced along a straight path.

One fault even pro-golfers have is reliance on the dominant right hand. When the right hand dominates the left hand as the downswing begins, control is transferred from the left hand entirely to the right. This makes the right hand throw the club head forward, over the left hand and arm, which destroys the club-line and releases the club head too early, which results in a weak out-to-in impact.

To correct this, you must retain control in the left hand and left arm throughout the backswing and downswing. This will make the right hand assume it’s correct role and allow for the perfect downswing, giving you the power to hit the golf ball and guiding the ball in straight flight.

Tips to Help You Stop Hooking The Ball From The Tee

If you are having troubles hooking the ball–especially from the tee–then you should spend some time to analyze what is causing this problem. It could be the result of a number of different things.

A lot of golfers believe that the equipment could be to blame for a lack of central flight on the golf ball, allowing the ball to fly wildly onto the heavy rough or into the sand and water hazards.

But what if your equipment is fine? — What could be the problem?

When you are truly hooking the ball, it is generally caused when your swing comes too far from the inside out. This causes excessive spin or “hook” spin. However, this is becoming less common as most players now swing from the outside to the inside to affect a pull slice.

If you want to correct this problem, the first thing you should do is check your stance. Your legs should be stretched out with your chin straight. This will produce a good spine angle, which in turn will provide a good swing plane.

A player who has a very strong grip with his right forearm below their left and his stance closed will cause the club with a closed face to come too far inside. Luckily, good alignment and posture can help eliminate this problem. The main thing to remember is that if you aren’t hitting well, then your setup is more than likely the culprit.

In addition to this, you should also try to concentrate more on swinging straight down the target line. That is the best advice you can get if you are trying to avoid another wild hooking shot. Stay calm and focused, keep your shoulders straight, and keep the golf club swing nice and short with enough power to make 200 yards seem like child’s play every time you put your ball on the tee. Aim to make hooking a thing of the past.

The Importance Of A Good Stance

No two golfers are ever the same; everyone is different and that’s what makes golf what it is. Everyone has different strengths and weaknesses–styles and techniques. Some are better at putting and others have a great stance.

Although the stance is effective in the same way, some people will prefer their stance to be different from others, so they can play with more power or more control to give them a specific advantage over other golfers.

If you want to further your golfing career and improve your game, you should spend some time perfecting your stance. Not only will this maximize the efficiency of every swing you make on the course, but it will also increase your overall enjoyment of the game.

You should first get the grip you prefer and then set yourself up with a stance that feels comfortable; if you are uncomfortable, then chances are your shot is going to make you even more uncomfortable.

Many golfers will see the traditional stance as the best way to go, but feel free to make little changes to the stance if it improves your game. To try the general stance that most golfers use, you should stand tall with your heels about a shoulder’s width apart. Bend slightly from the top of your hips and keep your back straight. Let your arms hang down, but don’t let your chin tuck into your chest.

Before you swing, make sure your weight is equally-distributed between both feet; and also make sure your weight rests on the balls of your feet.

Remember that this is just the standard stance used by many successful golfers. If you play better using a different stance, then by all means keep it.

Your stance is important for every shot you take, so make sure the stance you are using now is actually the best possible stance for you; otherwise, you will add strokes to your game every single time you swing a club.

Essential Putting Tips

Putting is a very important moment on every golf hole. It signals the end of the hole and subsequently it will signal whether it was a good hole or a hole to forget.

Some people prefer a smaller green when putting , but others like the longer greens so that they can really try their luck at putting a twenty-five yard ball.

Putting balls that are between 4 and 6 feet in length are the ones that we expect to sink all the time. But even pros can miss putting those putts before, which means the average golfer shouldn’t be bothered if he misses that 5 foot putt. But of course your success rate will increase with practice–and with it, your score for each hole will shrink, making more and more competitive as you train.

It is important to practice putting; and one best ways to do this is to start small. Start with putting straight balls because they will teach you the basics of putting. For instance, you will soon learn that if you focus on the putting, it will help you get more of a feel for the putter.

Try getting about 10 golf balls lined up about four feet from the hole; and just try putting them. You will probably miss a few initially, but continue putting until you can get every golf ball in the hole every single time.

When you can do this easily, start trying longer putts.

The other benefit about learning to putt is that you will build confidence with each putt and consequently will have less fear about putting from that distance. You may even want to price putting in your own home, where you feel most comfortable. This might be a good idea if you feel you need to build confidence in your putting.

Pitch Shot For Any Golfer

Many golfers confuse pitching and chipping as the same thing. Making this mistake can be detrimental to your game. A pitch shot will let the golf ball have more air time than a chip shot. Golfers generally take a pitch shot when they want to shoot over a bunker or when the grass is too deep to chip out.

The pitch shot is not hard to master; once you have practiced the basics, your pitch shot will separate itself from your chip shot.

Many golfers have a tendency to avoid the pitch shot because they don’t know the basics.

So let’s go over the basics:

1. A pitch shot is a lofted shot that will fly further than it will roll.

2. The best club to use for a pitch shot is a lofted club; usually a lob wedge, sand wedge, or pitching wedge.

3. Golfers should use an open stance with their feet close together.

4. The golf ball should be positioned in the center of the stance.

5. The backswing of the golfer’s shot can be waist-high or even a full-swing. This will depend on the length of the shot.

6. The golfer’s should turn his legs and body to turn slightly through the shot.

When you use a pitch shot, remember to practice with the waist-high and full swing to become more familiar with the different length shots that may come up when you are out on the course.

All this information may seem tough to translate into action, but it is important that you master it if you want to improve your game. I personally suggest you have someone watch you and give you advice based on the suggestions I made above.

Try to remember that the further away the green is, the more power you will have to give the pitch shot and the further the club will have to go on your backswing.

There are golfers out there who execute every movement right and have a flawless swing. But they seem to be lacking something. Usually this “little something” actually has to do with their mental game of golf, rather than physical.

First, there is the teeing up error: some golfers will not give themselves as much room as they need. If you are playing a slice, then you should tee the ball on the right side so that you can start it left without the fear of clipping branches.

Next there is the teeing problem: sometimes the teeing ground will be uneven due to erosion. Try to locate a level spot as you are approaching the tee. It can be tough to tell if the surface is even once you are standing over the ball. If you are unsure, then you
should consider re-teeing your golf ball.

Some golfers also have a problem with rushing. They don’t slow down and focus on their game; instead they keep swinging and moving. But why rush? When you are hitting fast, you will lose concentration and more than likely mess up a good shot.

Rushing through a shot does not make you a better player. Of course, you should move quickly between shots, but maintain your normal pre-shot routine and you’ll do a lot better than you would rushing through the shots. There is no connection in golf between skill and speed.

Everyone will make mistakes somewhere in their game, but if you can remove as many mistakes as possible from your mind and carry on like nothing has happend, then you will greatly improve your next shot. This is another important part of the mental game of golf – fighting that urge to give up or get frustrated. Don’t let your last shot affect your next.

In addition to this, there are a number of other mental errors you will run into in the world of golf. These are just a few of of the highlights that tend to happen more frequently. If you learn to overcome these, you will greatly improve your mental game of golf and your chances of winning.

Left Handed Golfers – Tips to Succeed

There are many left-handed golfers who have serious problems playing the game. Whether it’s because they are using a club that doesn’t feel right or because they just can’t seem to figure out how to golf left-handed, when nearly all tips and equipment out there cater to right-handed players.

This happens to a lot of new golfers who haven’t yet learned that they are left-handed: there are a lot of people who use their right hand for everything else, but when it comes to golf, they automatically seem to change hands; and they need to use their left hand to golf.

Mastering golf is hard enough without any extra complications.

When it comes to viewing pictures of golfers taking a shot left-handed, golfers will almost need to view the image with a mirror to get the right idea.

This is why there are websites and magazines dedicated to the left handed golfer that accommodate all left-handed golfers out there. Whether they are giving them news on how to beat people with the latest in left-handed clubs or telling them where to find the best coaches who cater to left-handed golfers.

It can get frustrating for left handed golfers to constantly keep reading text on the latest tips, only to have their concentration broken when the word “right” pops up, forcing them to change the word in their mind to “left.” But these dedicated publications and WebPages are designed to help break that mold that hinders the everyday left-handed golfer.

Golfers’ needs are now being met in every way imaginable. Not long ago, left handed golfers weren’t given much of a chance in the golfing world, but with the great sport of golf becoming more interesting and inclusive, everyone is given a much better chance to compete.
